About Us

About dominogame.app

We publish a free, modern browser version of draw dominoes — the classic double-six tile game — played one on one against the computer in a match to 100 points, with a layout that works on any screen.

Our craft

Match, count, block.

Join a tile to an open end, track what has fallen, and shed your weight before the round closes. That loop is everything we design around.

What we make

A free dominoes game that stays in the browser

dominogame.app is the site behind our version of draw dominoes. The product is a single-player game: you and the computer each take seven tiles, join tiles to the two open ends of the line, draw from the boneyard when stuck, and score the opponent’s remaining pips when a round ends. First to 100 points wins the match.

We are not an app-store publisher and there is nothing to download. The game is the website. That keeps load times short, works on phones and desktops alike, and avoids an account wall. Your record lives in local browser storage on your device.

If you are comparing this to another dominoes site, this page only speaks for dominogame.app. The rules and scoring described in our how-to-play guide and FAQ match this exact build.

Our story

An old game, a fast new table

Dominoes has been played for three centuries across nearly every continent. We treat that as a responsibility to get the rules exactly right and the friction as close to zero as we can.

  1. 01

    From tile games to dominoes

Dominoes descend from Chinese tile games and appear in Europe — first in Italy — in the early 18th century. The Western set settled on 28 tiles running from double blank to double six, one for every pairing of two numbers from zero to six.

  2. 02

    A game that travelled

Draw and block dominoes spread worldwide, carried by trade and migration, and put down especially deep roots in the Caribbean, Latin America, and the American South, where a table and a set of bones is a fixture of everyday life.

  3. 03

    This build

dominogame.app is an independent, modern implementation of draw dominoes for one player against the computer. The rules are the familiar ones; what is new is a rendering that is smooth on a phone, a layout that keeps your hand, the line, and the score on one screen, synthesized sound with a real mute, and a quick, fair computer opponent.

What we stand for

Principles behind every round

Instant to start

Open the page and a table is ready. No account wall, no download, no splash video — press Deal and the tiles are dealt.

Honest rules

A full double-six set, a real boneyard, draw-when-stuck, knock-when-empty, and blocked games settled on pip count. Standard draw dominoes, with nothing gated behind a "pro" toggle.

Yours to keep

Matches played and won, rounds won, best winning margin, and your streak live on your device. We do not hold your record behind a login, because there is no login.

Free, for real

The whole game is free forever. No energy meters, no interstitial video ads between rounds, no surprise paywall.

Who it is for

Players who want a clean game of dominoes

dominogame.app is a family-friendly, single-player game with no chat and no store. A poor fit if you want online multiplayer or live events; a good fit if you want a proper game of draw dominoes on whatever screen is nearby.

  • Short sessions

A round takes a minute or two; a full match to 100 runs five to fifteen minutes. Dominoes is built for a phone on the couch or a browser tab between tasks.

  • Counting, not reflexes

There is no clock forcing a move and nothing to react to. The whole challenge is tracking what has been played and steering the two open ends.

  • Play without an account

Your record stays on the device you played on. That is a deliberate trade: instant play and real privacy, with no cloud restore.

Why this site

How dominogame.app is different

Dominoes has countless implementations online. This one exists to ship a single honest, fast version — correct draw rules, a fair opponent, and no clutter.

  • Draw dominoes, done right

A real boneyard you draw from, knocking only when it is empty, and blocked games resolved on pip count — not a stripped-down block variant.

  • A computer that plays fair

The opponent uses a solid, quick heuristic: it sheds heavy tiles, plays doubles while they fit, and keeps its ends open. Good to learn against, beatable with good counting.

  • No clutter

No auto-playing video, no fake "download our app" banners, no dark patterns around the settings. The how-to-play guide and FAQ describe this exact engine, not a generic write-up.

How we build

Designed for the browser you already have

The game runs entirely on the web: fast loads, drag / tap / keyboard controls, and progress that stays local unless you clear your browser data. We use lightweight analytics to see what helps players — never to gate the game behind a profile. The engine on the home page is the one described on our rules pages, so search results and the live game never drift apart.

  • Play anywhere

Phone, tablet, and desktop share one table. Drag a tile with a mouse, tap on a touchscreen, or use the keyboard shortcuts for selecting a tile, choosing an end, drawing, and knocking.

  • Progress on your device

Matches played and won, rounds won, best winning margin, and streak are stored locally. You own the continuity of your record without signing up.

  • Quiet improvement

We watch aggregate usage through Google Analytics to improve pacing and polish. Details are in our Privacy Policy — never as a sales pitch.
